About Me

A lifelong Midwesterner, I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but was soon transplanted to a small town outside of Dayton, Ohio, where I grew up. Always an avid reader and writer, I graduated from The Ohio State University summa cum laude with Honors with a bachelor’s degree in English. In my senior year, I won the St. John Perse Award for Poetry and was named The Outstanding Senior English Major.

However, my writing took a different course when I veered into law school, where fiction and poetry took a back seat to case law and legal briefs. After graduating, I practiced law for many years but recently came back to my first love: creative writing. I found the time to start writing again, and I am working on obtaining an agent for what would be my debut novel, Both Sides of Zero.

Now with my home base in Cincinnati, Ohio, I read and write as often as I can. Some of my favorite authors include Garth Greenwell, Sally Rooney, Khaled Hosseini, Colson Whitehead, Jennifer Egan, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Dickens, Edith Wharton, Thomas Pynchon, Flannery O’Connor, Barbara Kingsolver, William Faulkner, Philip Roth, and Carson McCullers. My husband and cats as well as a large music collection keep me company when I am not reading or writing.
